Journalists and journalism students can apply for funding.
InfoCongo, the geojournalism platform of Internews’ Earth Journalism Network in Central Africa, is commissioning stories on forests, water, climate change, wildlife, extractive industries, conflicts and crimes.
Freelancers and staff from all types of media outlets — both large and small — are encouraged to submit applications. Applicants should be based in a Congo Basin country and/or demonstrate that the impact of the story on their audience will positively influence development in the Congo region.
Grants vary from US$500 to U$1,500 and may cover travel, translations, fact-checking and/or database access.
The deadline to submit a proposal is Feb. 8.
