Funds available for reporting on FIFA World Cup

Journalists and journalism students who want to investigate the preparations for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil can pitch their story ideas.

Brazil’s Agência Pública will distribute four grants of BRL4,000 each for investigative reporting on the build-up to the event. The works will be published in the blog Copa Pública and in newspapers and partner sites.

All investigative reports will be guided by the staff of Pública. Journalists who reside outside São Paulo will meet the editors via Skype. The competition is open to foreign journalists. However, stories must be submitted in Portuguese.

The deadline to submit an idea is Dec. 6.
