Journalism contest seeks entries from Africa

Print, online and broadcast journalists can compete for a prize.

The Norbert Zongo National Press Centre, based in Burkina Faso, is accepting applications for its competition. The Norbert Zongo Prize for Journalism honors excellence in investigation and research on subjects related to the political, economic, social and cultural life in Africa.

Categories include newspaper, radio and television. The works must have been published or broadcast between May 3, 2013 and May 3, 2015.

The winners of the Norbert Zongo Prize in each category will receive CFA1,000,000.

Only submissions in French or English will be accepted. Stories submitted in other languages must be accompanied by a translation.

The deadline is Aug. 30.
