IWMF seeks applicants for trips to Africa

Women journalists with at least three years of experience and excellent English skills can apply for reporting trips.

The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is leading five trips to Africa over the course of 2015 as part of its African Great Lakes Reporting Initiative. The first round will take participants to Tanzania and DR Congo.

Each reporting trip will begin with three days of comprehensive security training and briefings by regional experts. The selected journalists will participate in one week of in-country independent reporting as well as group activities, and will have the opportunity to interact with key multisector stakeholders as well as local journalists.

The IWMF pays for fellowship-related expenses including travel, lodging, meals and fixers/interpreters unless the fellow’s news organization wishes to assume these costs.

The deadline to apply is March 29.
